Description
Deery PLS Hot Rubber Crack Sealant is a premium, performance-grade material engineered to deliver long-lasting protection for asphalt pavement.
Formulated for excellent adhesion, elasticity, and durability, this hot-applied sealant fills and seals cracks to prevent water penetration, freeze–thaw damage, and base deterioration. Its flexible composition allows it to expand and contract with temperature changes, making it well suited for climates with seasonal extremes.
Deery® PLS creates a strong, smooth protective barrier that helps extend the life of parking lots, driveways, roadways, and commercial asphalt surfaces. Easy to apply and fast setting, it improves pavement appearance, enhances overall performance, and reduces long-term maintenance costs.
Whether used for residential, commercial, or municipal maintenance, Deery® PLS provides reliable crack sealing that supports safer, longer-lasting, and more durable pavement.
Deery PLS Hot-Applied Crack & Joint Sealant
Sustainable Performance for High-Demand Pavements
Deery PLS is a hot-applied, single-component crack and joint sealant engineered for projects where durability and recycled content both matter. Formulated with asphalt cement, virgin synthetic polymer, and high levels of recycled rubber, this moderately high-viscosity sealant delivers dependable pavement protection while supporting sustainability goals commonly required by state DOTs and large agencies.
Designed for highways, streets, and aviation pavements, Deery PLS flows where you need it, stays where you place it, and flexes with pavement movement through seasonal temperature changes. Once installed, it forms a resilient barrier that blocks water and debris from entering cracks and joints—helping slow pavement deterioration before it reaches the base.
Key benefits at a glance:
High recycled rubber content for environmentally responsible projects
Moderately high viscosity for controlled placement and clean joints
Effective moisture and debris barrier in moderate climate regions
Zero VOC, solvent-free formulation
Meets many state DOT specifications
Think of Deery PLS like a heavy-duty weatherstrip for pavement joints. It fills the gap, seals tight, and absorbs movement instead of breaking down under traffic and temperature stress.
For contractors and agencies balancing performance, compliance, and sustainability, Deery PLS delivers long-term value without complicating installation.
What Is Deery PLS and When to Use It
Deery PLS is a hot-applied pavement preservation sealant specifically designed for sealing longitudinal and transverse joints and random cracks in asphalt or concrete pavements. Its moderately high viscosity makes it ideal for applications where controlled flow is preferred, particularly in cracks or reservoirs where excessive runoff is undesirable.
The inclusion of recycled rubber makes Deery PLS a strong choice for projects that prioritize sustainable materials without sacrificing performance. It is commonly specified for:
State and municipal highways
Urban and suburban streets
Airport runways and taxiways
Commercial and industrial pavements
Properly installed, Deery PLS helps reduce moisture infiltration, minimizes debris accumulation, and supports longer pavement service life.
How to Use Deery PLS – Step by Step
Surface preparation
Cracks and joints must be clean and dry. Remove all dust, debris, vegetation, and moisture. Pavement temperature must be at least 40 °F at the time of installation. In cooler conditions, warming with a Hot Air Lance is recommended.Heating
Heat Deery PLS in a hot-oil jacketed melter with constant mechanical agitation. Use a calibrated thermometer to monitor temperature throughout heating and application.
Minimum application temperature: 380 °F
Maximum heating temperature: 400 °F
Avoid prolonged heating at or above the minimum or maximum temperatures, as overheating can permanently damage the material.
Application
Once the sealant reaches minimum application temperature, it is ready for immediate use. Place material into the crack or prepared reservoir using:
Hand-held pour pot
Wheeled push bander
Wand applicator
Finishing
Squeegee excess sealant flush with the pavement surface to create a smooth, uniform seal.Reheating
Material may be cooled and reheated if necessary, provided prolonged heating is avoided and temperature limits are respected.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much Deery PLS will I need?
Coverage depends on crack width, depth, and total linear footage. Always calculate quantities based on actual field measurements and joint configuration.
Is Deery PLS suitable for colder climates?
Deery PLS is designed for regions experiencing moderate high and moderate low pavement temperatures. It performs well through seasonal expansion and contraction when installed correctly.
Why choose a higher-viscosity sealant?
Moderately high-viscosity materials like Deery PLS offer better control during placement and reduce the risk of runoff in wider or routed cracks.
Can unused material be reheated?
Yes, as long as prolonged heating is avoided and the sealant has not been overheated beyond recommended limits.
How does Deery PLS compare to standard crack sealants?
Deery PLS combines recycled content with performance-driven properties, making it a strong option when sustainability requirements are part of the project scope.
Why Deery PLS Works Across the USA
From Midwest freeze-thaw cycles to steady traffic loads on arterial roadways, Deery PLS is designed to flex with pavement movement while maintaining a tight seal. Like a quality rubber expansion joint in a bridge, it absorbs stress instead of transferring it—helping pavements last longer with fewer reactive repairs.
Packaging Options
Deery PLS is available in:
30 lb cardboard boxes with quick-melt release film (75 boxes per pallet)
30 lb meltable packaging, sold by the pallet only
Both options are OSHA and GHS compliant, palletized for efficient handling, and suitable for outdoor storage.
For projects that demand performance, compliance, and responsible material choices, Deery PLS is a practical, specification-ready solution for long-term pavement preservation.
